2013 sees Keith Cronin step up to competing in the World Rally Championship 3 series, but it also offers him an opportunity to win the Citroën Top Driver series and, with it, a fantastic start to 2014!

The competition sets some of the world’s most talented young drivers against each other in identical Citroen DS3 R5 rally cars on control Pirelli tyres. Over six rounds of competition, nine drivers from across the world will compete in a bid to win a six-event programme with Citroën in 2014, in an all-new R5 spec DS3.

Cronin won his place in the Top Driver challenge after securing the Citroën Racing Trophy UK, as well as the British Rally Championship, in 2013.

Marek Nawarecki, Customer Racing Manager for Citroën Racing explains that the series has two aims: ‘” to showcase the talented drivers of the future in a world-level competition by giving them the best possible support along with a reliable, high-performance car and also make the Citroën DS3 R3 the benchmark in the WRC3 championship. It’s a big challenge but the crews entered have the qualities and resources required to pull it off!”

“WRC3 and the Citroen Top Driver championship will both be very competitive and my aim is to take it stage by stage, and rally by rally, learning from the experience all along the way” says Keith.

It’s a fantastic prize, and a key target for Keith in his first year of competing at this level.
