About Keith

Three-time British Rally Championship winner Keith Cronin is setting his sights on World Rally Championship 3 this year, as he forges ahead with a rally career which began in his homeplace of Ballylickey in West Cork.

About Keith Cronin - Image: Jakob Ebery jakobebery.comKeith – the eldest of ten children – was picked out as a potential star of the future on a children’s rally track in nearby Killarney when he was just ten years old.

But rallying was something the young boy’s family already took very seriously.

Keith’s uncle Denis had many rallying successes, and Keith helped look after Denis’ rally cars before starting his own driving career in hot-rod competitions in his teenage years. Keith began his first rally as a young co-driver in 2003.

Keith’s full potential became clear when he won the British Rally Championship in 2009 at the first attempt, going on to win it again in 2010 and 2012. Now, in 2013, as he steps up to the next level, he’s determined to make the same kind of impression on the World Rally Championship.

Modest but Ambitious
Keith Cronin is a modest young man who made sure to complete his accountancy training as well as pursuing his rally career (a fact which explains his absence from the BRC in 2011). With that training completed, and three British Rally Championships under his belt, he’s focused on rallying and intent on realising his big ambitions for the future.

“Anyone who knows West Cork knows the passion for rallying here is huge,” says Keith. “That passion is fuelling my bid to reach the top in this sport.”

New Phase
2013 marks the start of a new phase in Keith’s career, as he starts out in the World Rally Championship for the first time. He has no other aim than to progress through to the highest levels of the sport. And he’s under no illusions about the size of the challenge ahead.

On his way to this level, Keith has received amazing support from Irish Motorsport, Citroën, and Pirelli, as well as from his loyal supporters in West Cork. As his WRC campaign develops, you too can play a part in helping Keith to achieve his goals.

Follow Keith Cronin Rallying to keep track of Keith’s progress, and offer your support as he makes his bid for to bring World Rally Championship titles back to Ireland, in 2013, and in the years ahead.
